China-Malaysia “Cloud” Gathering to feel the cultural charm — Launching Ceremony of China-Malaysia International Youth Chinese Culture Cloud Tour on August 9, 2022
At 09:30 in the morning of August 09, 2022, the launching ceremony of the China-Malaysia “Belt and Road” International Youth Chinese Culture Cloud Tour, hosted by the Weihai Federation of Returning Overseas Chinese and co-organized by the Shandong Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia, was held in the library of SJKC Naam Kheung in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The President of the Shandong Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia and Chairman of DongFangCity Holding Group, Dato’ Dr. Li Wei was invited as a special guest to attend and delivered a speech. Dato’ Dr. Li Wei said at the launching ceremony, “Since its establishment, the Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia has been committed to the exchange and promotion of Chinese and Malaysian culture. In this China-Malaysia exchange event, the participating Kuala Lumpur SJKC Naam Kheung and Weihai Jingyuan Primary School are both century-old prestigious schools. As the saying goes, if a teenager is strong, the country is strong. The exchanges between the two prestigious schools have allowed us to truly see that there are those founders and pioneers who have continued to be rooted in China. Today, we are here to carry out cultural exchange activities for young people between the two countries, which is of great significance to consolidate the friendship between the two peoples and strengthen the interaction between friendly cities.The Shandong Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia has always been committed to the inheritance of excellent culture, especially Eastern culture as a window for external display. It has always played a role of demonstration and leadership in the development of Malaysia's tourism industry, and has been striding forward on the road of leading Eastern culture.”
The launching ceremony was highly valued by the governments of China and Malaysia. Li Xingyu, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Overseas Chinese and Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Overseas Chinese, visited the launching ceremony venue and delivered an important speech. He first expressed his sincere gratitude to the Shandong Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia for hosting the event, and hoped that China and Malaysia would take this event as an opportunity to carry out more in-depth exchanges and interactions in the future to build a bridge of friendship between China and Malaysia.
This cloud-based special event allowed young people from China and Malaysia to gather online although thousands of miles away, deeply “perceiving the deep friendship of their ancestors (nationality) country” and “long cultural roots”. Online interaction allowed young people from China and Malaysia to touch the roots of Chinese culture and connect the past, present and future.
At the launching ceremony, two century-old prestigious schools, Weihai Jingyuan Primary School (China) and Kuala Lumpur SJKC Naam Kheung (Malaysia), were also introduced in a short video.
At the end of the launching ceremony, a series of cooperation agreements were signed, namely, the agreement between the Shandong Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia and the Weihai Federation of Overseas Chinese to establish a contact station for overseas investment and intellectual property; the agreement between the Shandong Chamber of Commerce of Malaysia and the Weihai Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce to establish friendly association relations; and the letter of intent for cooperation between the SJKC Naam Kheung in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Weihai Jingyuan Primary School (China). Zheng Jinde JMW, Chairman of SJKC Naam Kheung, witnessed the signing ceremony.
Mr. Li Lixin, Market Director of DongFangCity, Jeffery, Director of DFCITY PKNS Joint Venture, Ms. Wei Lingyu and Mr. Liu Shu, Shareholders of DongFangCity, and Zhang Ming, Honorary Director of DongFangCity, attended the launching ceremony.
