Changes & Expectations in DFCITY Tourism Development

— DFCITY held its first discussion with the new CEO of PKNS

SHAH ALAM, March 30, 2022 — At 4:30pm, at the invitation of the new CEO of Selangor State Development Authority (PKNS) Datuk Mahmud Abbas, Chairman of DongFangCity Holding Group, Dato’ Dr. Li Wei and His Royal Highness Tengku Sulaiman Shah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DongFangCity, held the first cordial discussion in the PKNS CEO's office to seek a grand plan for the development of DongFangCity.

With the announcement by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Ismail Sabri that Malaysia will open its borders on April 1, and all peoples who have completed two doses of vaccination will not need to be quarantined after entering the country. This move will lay the foundation for Malaysia's economic recovery and press the “restart button” for Malaysia's tourism industry. Tourism is of great significance to the Malaysian economy. According to Statistics Malaysia, Malaysia's tourism industry accounted for 15.9% of GDP in 2019, and foreign tourists and Malaysians accounted for 49.1% and 50.9% of total tourism expenditure respectively. As a high-quality tourism resources platform for Oriental culture, DongFangCity has found another way in terms of operation channels and business culture. By integrating its own superiorities, it has opened up a dual online and offline operation model, and has always played a role of demonstration and leadership in the development of Malaysia's tourism industry with continuous innovation.

At the meeting, Dato’ Dr. Li Wei, Chairman of DongFangCity Holding Group, first expressed his gratitude to Datuk Mahmud Abbas, the new CEO of the Selangor State Development Authority (PKNS), for his kind invitation. He said that DongFangCity has always been striding forward on the road of leading the Oriental cultural tourism industry. It is committed to leading the way in subverting the traditional tourism industry through a unique creative culture and taking the helm of the future. It aims to dedicate Oriental culture to tourists all over the world. This is a warm city and a city of languages. After thirteen years of construction and precipitation, with the opening of the China-Malaysia border, a complete artistic design and systematic plate design will be projected into reality in the near future, radiating the ecosystem of slow life and slow amusement to the whole world! This is DongFangCity, a city of unexpected charm for you. In the future, it will greatly fill the gap in the Malaysian integrated tourism market as the pinnacle king. This aircraft carrier-class tourism city, this world-class entertainment center, will attract the world's attention with massive flows of tourists. At the same time, as the new landmark of Malaysia's International Tourism City, DongFangCity will drive the growth of tourism consumption in Malaysia and drive the coordinated economic development of Selangor State.

At the meeting, Datuk Mahmud Abbas, the new CEO of the Selangor State Development Authority (PKNS), first expressed a warm welcome to His Royal Highness Tengku Sulaiman Shah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DongFangCity, and Dato’ Dr. Li Wei, Chairman of DongFangCity Holding Group. He said that the global spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the global economy to "shut down". The outbreak of the pandemic has had a huge impact on the world. Other countries except Malaysia have fallen into a deep disaster. In response to the pandemic, all mankind has even entered a “state of war” and used a lot of resources to alleviate the pandemic. With the COVID-19 vaccination, the pandemic has been effectively controlled. Malaysia will open its borders on April 1, and Malaysia's tourism industry will also recover. As a strong partner of DongFangCity, PKNS will give more support and preferential policies to promote the rapid development of DongFangCity as the country opens up. At present, the Chinese government has adopted the world's strictest virus clearance policy, and the country has not yet opened, but he believes that in time, the China-Malaysia border will be officially opened. At that time, PKNS will join hand in hand with DongFangCity to open their arms and warmly welcome the visit of DongFangCity's family members.

His Royal Highness Tengku Sulaiman Shah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DongFangCity, said at the meeting that the Royal family will continue to assist DongFangCity in applying for the opening of a special passage visa, a special channel for “Malaysia Airlines & AirAsia”, and the establishment of an exclusive independent department “one-stop service” to assist DongFangCity in the rapid implementation of the approval procedures.
